Beef Stroganoff

This is a recipe that I have been enjoying since I was little.  My mom used to make this for us as kids, then I made it for my kids.  Maybe some day they will make it for their kids!

    What you will need
    skillet
    large pot
    1 pound hamburger meat
    salt/pepper to taste
    1 teaspoon dried oregano
    3 tablespoons flour
1 can cream of chicken soup (or cream of mushroom)
    8 oz sour cream
wide egg noodles OR rice (whichever you prefer)

In the skillet, brown the hamburger meat with salt, pepper and oregano. Turn off heat. Do NOT drain grease. After the meat is browned, add the three tablespoons of flour and stir in well. Then add can of soup and one can of water to the meat. Stir well and cook on low for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Just before serving, stir in sour cream and heat through, but do not boil. Serve over cooked wide egg noodles or cooked rice.
This goes well with garlic toast, green beans, and sweet iced tea. I have started trying to cook a little more healthily. Just recently we discovered that we like this dish just as well made with ground turkey. Either way – enjoy!!
